— Painter/Sculptor

Sabrina Di Tora is an artist and accessories designer from Carrara. Her interest in drawing and art started at a very early age, by the age of five, when her mother took her to art exhibitions and museums in Florence and Rome. Her perception of the world changed when she realized that she had a sharp eye for details, colors and lights. She attended the arts high school “Artemisia Gentileschi” in Carrara and then she decided to take a career path in fashion and accessories design (bags, shoes and small leather goods) at the European Institute of Design (IED) in Milan. Open-minded to new experiences, she decided to move to London, where she has attended an internship in the Alexander McQueen style creative of ce for a year as an Assistant Designer. Once back in Italy, she accepted to collaborate with one of her friends, Silvia Scaramucci, for a new fashion project: Demanumea. Sabrina has been making illustrations and sculptures on bags for this luxury company where successful young artists work for two years. There, she has finally found a way to express herself and she has also taken the opportunity of creating a small art project “Leather Art” with two of her artworks at the “Arte a Confronto” exhibition in Bergamo held by Mazzoleni Foundation. Leather Art concept is in the artwork itself: vegetal tanned leather is used as a support recalling Sabrinaʼs training as an accessories designer for freehand etching using a poker. Finally, the artist applies oil painting to finish the whole piece in a masterly manner.
